The Band Professional Team

This is part eight of a series of posts on how to set up your band for business.

The Band Professional Team.

Once the band is set up for business is the time to start talking about management and agency contracts, synch licenses, and royalties.  You might even want to wait to put together a more formal business plan with the help of a professional although I recommend at least a basic business plan to start off with.

First Stop: Entertainment Lawyer.

Not to be self-serving in any way (or egotistical), I believe an entertainment lawyer should be the first professional person you should consult with.  An entertainment lawyer can explain how the various revenues flow and will help you focus your efforts in the right directions. This truly could be the first stop even before you finalize your decision to make your band your business.
