Ari Emanuel on Monetizing Content

1 Comment 19 November 2010

Ari Emanuel

In this 48 minutes interview with Julia Boorstin of CNBC, Ari Emanuel, talent agent at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, (and Rahm Emanuel’s brother) talks about the entertainment business and why creators of content and its owners should be able to control the business going forward given the huge number of distribution channels now available to consumers.

He also talks about what entertainment is today, who “talent” is today, and how silicon valley and Hollywood are beginning to come together.

His job as talent agent is to create formulas for his clients to monetize the content they are creating.

It is a long interview but will open your mind up to start thinking about more creative ways to monetize your content and earn a living with your music, films, or other art.

We have the solutions to the problems that Ari articulates. Ten years and millions of dollars in the development of our platform. We answer ALL of his questions including Piracy. Do you have an IN with him? We’d make it worth your while to introduce us. Call me: Fletch Rainey 310 691 2415.

We view Ari as a potential partner providing a very special relationship with us that can only be replicated by a handful of other people. For various reasons, we’d like Ari to have 1st dibs. We have quite a few big name contacts but they don’t touch the things that Ari does in the way he does. And most importantly, unlike anyone else we can name, we’ve heard Ari in his own words describe the problems he is having:

Here at SoCo Channels, we’ve developed the solutions to those problems. ALL of them. It will be good for us, for Ari and definitely for his Content creating clients, many of whom have not figured out how to successfully migrate their Content to the internet without suffering a large financial loss; as well as for those clients who are popular but not monetizing their social activities.

Newspapers, magazines, music are all dying industries that Ari represents and that can benefit from our solutions. And if they are remotely popular the money making opportunity is there regardless of the industry. We solve major problems that Ari articulated as being significant problems for Hollywood, relative to Content and we would like an opportunity to discuss some of our solutions that both stand alone and add incremental value to pieces of the puzzle that he already has in place.

We feel that we would bring significant value to his enterprise and we want to have a dialogue about how we can help Mr. Emanuel lead Hollywood in fighting piracy, monetizing social content and improving the economics of content that has shifted from the offline world to online with huge losses in revenue. Again, our solutions go quite a ways toward answering his question: How do Content Providers and Technology co-exist?

We’re preparing a comprehensive proposal for Ari which should be ready in about a week’s time. We can fly out there to meet with him, or if he’s planning to be in New York any time soon we can meet with him here. He’ll know best how we fit in with his overall vision and once he’s seen how comprehensive our platform is, I’m sure he’ll have input that will be invaluable and we’ll gladly take whatever direction he suggests. Make this happen Fletch. Ari will be glad you did.
